Promises crumble upon borrowed time,
Hollow words where many dreams die,
Sunlit days shadow empty skies,
So long, too long for one to make reference.
When and where do you find meaningful change?
Clever politicians do not know.

Gloomy peace. The world-at-war is too,
Of little recompense.
